Christoph Wolff is Adams Professor at the Harvard University and Director of the Leipzig Bach-Archiv. His book Johann Sebastian Bach: The Learned Musician was nominated for the 2001 Pulitzer Prize.

Tenor James Gilchrist shares his thoughts on JS Bach's St John Passion, including the role of the Evangelist, the benefits of performing on period instruments and the reasons why this masterpiece "lives for me time and time again".
